Roesy is permanently back in Ireland after 15 years in Australia. He returned in September 2025 for a solo tour that opened at Electric Picnic and continued across 11 dates nationwide.

A songwriter with his first publishing deal signed with Warner Chappell in 1996, Roesy’s catalogue spans eight albums, two EPs, and touring across Europe, the US, Australia, and New Zealand. His work is long celebrated for lyrical depth and emotional clarity, with The Irish Times describing him as “armed with a crystalline pair of vocal chords.”

Back on stage in Ireland, Roesy is again joined by guitarist Albert Niland. After multiple tours together, their knockout live dynamic was captured on the album Roesy, recorded in single live takes at Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin, over two days in 2010.

During his years in Australia, Roesy worked as a disability support worker, incorporating music and art wherever possible across a wide range of needs, from behavioural to non-verbal. Those years deepened his belief in the arts as a gentle reconnecting force.

Alongside his solo tours, Turning Pirate has collaborated on his Very Round Robin tours which have been a huge favourite countrywide.
